Ganna Bogdan is a multimedia artist from Kiev, living in Los Angeles. She models, paints, takes photos, directs films, and is one of the coolest people we know.
Growing up in Ukraine she was influenced by post-Soviet youth and started working her way into art. As a model, she travelled often. At 18 she had an opportunity to go to Los Angeles and she’s been working and creating here every since.
LA is a point of inspiration for her work. Ganna has always had an eye on skate culture in America and the rave kids in Ukraine. She connects two worlds in her work. Recently, she focuses on filmmaking and painting, working with fashion brands and participating in group shows in LA and Kiev. Her art is highly influenced by the 70's and the mid-century movement, which she transform into a modern vision. She has directed films for a variety of brands and media outlets, including Cotton Citizen, Herschel, Paco Rabanne, RetroSuperFuture, SSENSE, Zara, and more.
Ganna shares a collection of film stills from her Super 8 camera with us. The film, which she directed for a Herschel Supply Co. campaign, features her friends running around Venice and skating at the park.
