Luís García is a visual artist from the Dominic Republic and based in NYC. He bought his first Avantix film camera in the early 90's not knowing much about photography. It just kind of happened. He later switched to a digital camera but eventually returned to his love of film.

I like to capture images that place me squarely in the scene, yet paradoxically, on the outside looking in. I want my images to compel you not to turn away, but to stay and be present. On the streets, in subways, inside apartments and in stores, I'm always observing relationships and the sometimes solitary lives we all live.
